This is a fictionalized biography of Sproo's adventures in GoKrida, recounting some early history of Blue Twin Land from the point of view of Sproo's minor souls.
Chapter 25: The Repayment
1. During the time of peace, Sproo had much work ahead of him, for he had promised huge amounts of our stores and many strange elemental items to those who would help him rid the world of LordGarion and his associates.
2. The angel Talons had landed the final blow to LordGarion, so to him went the bulk of the spoils.
3. And so great was the weight that even with nearly 2000 members of the tribes, it was all we could do to carry it.
4. Yet this was new to us, for not long before Sproo himself would have been able to shoulder the load with no difficulty.
5. "What has happened?" we did ask him, "where has your great strength gone?"
6. So did he speak unto us, "It is the aging of the universe."
7. "Just as the oak changes from seedling to shoot, from sapling to tree, so does the universe change."
8. "Each stage will be different from the last, better in some ways, worse in others."
9. And as he shifted the great weight on his shoulders (for even weakened, he could still carry far more than the mightiest of us) he grinned ruefully, and spake "This is just one of the worse."
10. "Take heart though, for when we have finished our work, we will see about finding the better."
11. And so we did, and we learned that even the Angels change.
Chapter 26: The Oddity (and the renaming of Rainbow Trickster)
1. Work on the stronghold did proceed, with Sproo first moving through the land of The Stronghold collecting supplies in preparation for building the outer wall.
2. The great work took many days, as stone in large quantities was needed to be placed at various points on the edge, for it was far too heavy to be carried all at once.
3. Yet we worked in happiness and song, for we knew it was leading to a better life for us all.
4. Yet one day when we woke and gathered our tools, we emerged from the village of Rainbow Trickster and found Sproo disconsolate.
5. We asked him the matter, and he did not speak unto us. Merely waving us away.
6. And our best performers performed for him, with dances of merriment and juggling acorns, yet these did not bring the smile back to Sproo's face.
7. His sighs tore through us like hailstones in the violet fields.
8. And our elders begged of him to tell us the matter, that we might put it right.
9. Finally did he spake unto us, "Ah, there is little you can do. I fear you may not even be able to understand."
10. And though we conceded this, for the ways of Angels have always been mysterious we did beg him for the chance to try.
11. "There is another universe," he began, "that I spend some little time in."
12. "As you might have a favored tree or violet, so do I have a favored creature of my own in that universe, a creature by the name of Cleo."
13. "But my Cleo has died."
14. And we were sad for Sproo, but tried to console him, urging him to contact what allies he might have and seek his creature emerging from another gate.
15. Sproo laughed at this, a short, bitter laugh. and told us that this other universe has no gates, nor ability to create them.
16. So did we understand his sadness, and sympathized with his suffering
17. For a universe without gates would truly be a cruel universe indeed.
18. Our elders convened in secret, hidden even from Sproo, and discussed what they might do to bring joy back to his roots.
19. Or if no joy could be found, to at least ease the pain.
20. When they emerged from their meeting, they approached Sproo and spake unto him.
21 "We do not know this Cleo you lost," they did say,
22. "But a universe without gates would be the most terrible place indeed."
23. "So, to ensure that none forget our fortune in having gates.
24. And as thanks for how you care for us even while you suffer,
25. The village of Rainbow Trickster will henceforth be known as Cleo."
26. And we were heartened to see a small smile of appreciation from Sproo.
27. So the village was renamed.
28. And so the city of Cleo stands at the centre of The Stronghold even today.
